Thailand – Bangkok
Day 3: Country #2
Thailand is a good entry point to acclimate to backpacker style travel – big, busy, but tourist friendly. Upon arriving, I took the bus then MRT (metro) to Hua Lamphong station, the very busy and crowded hub of the city. With my new identity as an extended traveler, I learned quickly there are many others who have figured out and arranged their lives around long term travel. But, I was still new and so I jumped right into sight seeing.
Tip:
Each country has slightly different street crossing etiquette, but the best approach is wait for a little gap between vehicles then walk quickly and steadily across. Do not try to avoid the scooters and motorbikes. They know to avoid you.
